Expert opinions - on our dime - about your project

Looking for a knowledgeable point of view about that new home, remodeling project or building concept you're planning? Bring your floor plan, blueprints and ideas, and let a local, Licensed General Contractor and custom home builder give you his thoughts - as one neighbor to another.

Stanton Homes is sponsoring a free "Meet the Builder" event on Sunday September 21st, 12pm - 4pm, in Chatham County, with CEO Stan Williams on site to answer your questions and offer suggestions.

Stan brings the latest trends and techniques to the table, along with the combined decades of experience of his team at Stanton Homes - and the success of starter homes, duplexes and multi-million dollar estates on both Coasts - and a renowned reputation for providing incredible details for every budget.

Stan's custom home builder perspective will help unravel the mysteries of what kind of home to build, whether to buy new or renovate, and the kinds of changes you can make.

What kinds of questions can I ask?

Anything that involves the construction aspects of a new home or building project, such as these questions:

*   Should my new home have a basement?  What's the ballpark cost, and what's involved?

*   Can someone build the floor plan I like on the lot I've purchased? (Bring a copy of your plot map, and any neighborhood restrictions.)

*   What kind of insulation is best for my new home or remodeling project?

*   Is it better to install hardwood floors during construction, or save money and start with carpet?  What's the general cost difference in new construction?

*   Should I engage a home inspector before the sale is finalized on my new custom home?

*   I'm interested in rainwater collection systems.  What are some of my options?  How difficult are they to install? How much space do they take?

*   Can I move this wall, or rearrange this kitchen in the floor plan I'm considering?

*   Can this floor plan be adjusted to provide some extra space, like a bonus room?

*   What's the difference between a "normal" home and an ENERGY STAR home

*   I'm starting to think about retirement.  Am I better off purchasing a one story home, or a home with a main floor master bedroom?  Which is more cost effective?

What should I bring with me?

That depends on what you want to talk about. Some things to think about:

Your floor plan, blueprints and ideas.  Most home plan websites have a print option - just print out the floor plan you're considering.  No need to purchase the full set of blueprints until you are sure the plan will work for you.

A copy of your plot map, and any neighborhood restrictions.

What will Stanton Homes provide?

An opportunity to talk with a licensed contractor about your project, without obligation or cost. In addition:

If you're considering building a home in the Raleigh area, Stanton Homes will follow up with a free initial building cost estimate, building on your lot or ours.

Or email your plan to us at least 4 days in advance to http://mailto:info@StantonHomes.com, and we can go over the initial estimate with you at the Stanton Homes "One Neighbor to Another" Meet the Builder Event.

The Stanton Homes "One Neighbor to Another" Meet the Builder Event will be held in Cattail Creek, just northwest of Pittsboro in Chatham County.   Click here for directions.  Or use 1199 White Smith Rd, Pittsboro, NC in mapping software.  From the intersection of White Smith Rd and Henderson Tanyard Rd, head 1 mile further north.  Cattail Creek will be on the right.
